Switch to a new Android device

You tin move your information to a new Android device from another kind of device, or offset fresh with your new Android device.

Before you begin

  • Charge both devices.
  • Make sure y'all tin can unlock the quondam device with a PIN, design, or password.
  • On your old device:
    • Sign in with your Google Account.

Switch from an Android device

  1. Plough on your new device.

    • Recommended: If yous have a cable to connect your devices, follow the on-screen instructions to copy your data.
    • If you don't have a cable:
      1. Tap No cable? and then Ok.
      2. Tap Using an iPhone device?
      3. To copy your data, follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Cheque your texts, photos, and videos.
    • To bank check your texts on your new device, learn how to switch from iMessage to Android Messages.
    • To get photos and videos stored in Apple iCloud on your new device, larn how to transfer iCloud photos and videos to Google Photos.

Restore information from the cloud

Important: If you lot don't have your old device, you need to know your Google Account and countersign to restore data.

  1. Turn on your new device.
  2. Tap First.
  3. To prepare your device without an onetime device, follow the prompts.
  4. When prompted, sign in with your Google Account.

Copy data manually
